Guide
Switching from Cova, Flowhub, Dutchie, BLAZE or Treez
Whichever system you're on today, the move comes down to the same few exports and a clean Metrc handover.
If you're moving from Cova, Flowhub, Dutchie, BLAZE, Treez or another dispensary POS, GreenPOS imports your data, and the migration is free on every plan. The steps don't depend much on which system you're leaving: every switch comes down to getting the same few files out and handing Metrc over cleanly.
What to request from your current provider
Whichever system you use, ask for these as CSV or spreadsheet files. Put the request in writing and note the date, so you have a record of what you asked for and when.
- A full customer export, including dates of birth, medical license numbers and expirations, contact details, consent flags and loyalty point balances.
- A product catalog export with categories, SKUs, UPCs, prices, brands and suppliers.
- A current inventory export by package, with Metrc tags, quantities, cost and room.
- Sales history reports for the period you need to keep, for your own records.
- How to disconnect their Metrc integration on cutover night, and who to call that evening.
Files rarely arrive tidy, and that's fine
- Different column names. GreenPOS suggests a field for each column by matching common variations, and you can change any of them.
- Report titles and dates above the headings. Skipped automatically, as long as the headings are in the first 20 lines.
- Totals and footer lines such as "Grand Total" or "Page 3 of 12" are recognised and skipped, with the reason shown.
- The same customer twice. Kept as separate customers by default, so nothing is merged behind your back; merge them later from the Customers page.
- Your inventory is already in Metrc. Instead of a spreadsheet, you can bring packages straight from Metrc with Import Packages on the Metrc page, lab state included.
Contracts and timing
Check your current agreement's notice period and end date before you pick a cutover day, and plan the switch so your exports are in hand while you still have access to the old system. Read the true cost of a POS guide for the questions worth asking about any contract, including ours.
The rest of the move
From here every switch is the same: follow the migration checklist, see how the import handles each file, and plan the Metrc handover.
Common questions
Does GreenPOS migrate data from Cova, Flowhub, Dutchie, BLAZE and Treez?
Yes. GreenPOS offers free data migration from Cova, Flowhub, Dutchie, BLAZE, Treez and other dispensary POS systems.
What if my current system won't export something?
Ask your current provider's support for a CSV of that data. If a file has a title or date above the headings, or headings named differently from GreenPOS's, that's fine: the import skips the title lines and lets you map each column.
Do I need to cancel my old system first?
No. Keep it until cutover is done and you have your final exports and sales reports. Just make sure only one system reports to Metrc from cutover day on.
Talk it through before you switch
Book a demo and bring your questions: what your current system can export, how your Metrc connection moves over, and what your first week would look like.
